Cisco7xx Reset
To clear the configuration on a boonky non-IOS router such as the 775m, do the following.
- Find correct links for the links below. Cisco rearrange their site quite often, which is a pain in the arse.
- Download the following files
- [760erase.hex http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/779/smbiz/service/knowledge/general/760erase.hex]
- [c760-in.b-TPH.43.1.bin http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/Tablebuild/doftp.pl?ftpfile=pub/access/760/c760-in.b-TPH.43.1.bin&app=SWSearch&status=showC2A] (requires CCO login)
- Connect to router using console cable at 9600 8n1.
- Power cycle it and press ESC during POST.
- Upload the 760erase.hex file using an ASCII transfer (cranking the speed up to 115200 at this point is a good idea!)
- When it reboots, upload the second firmware.
